Mind Reading through "Facebook"

i used to think that the ability to read mind is amazing.

but now facebook has pretty much granted that power to anyone and everyone. we are now able to read what others are thinking and also their thought process, as instant as the moment it is conceived in the brain cells.

the transition of those hovering thoughts in the brain to become readable text in status' updates occurs at terrifying speed. apparently they bypass routine procedures of thought-processing, such as weighing the pros and cons, rationales, sensitivity issues, language appropriateness and so on. as a result, they become readable faster than spinal reflex.

for example, one person posted something pertaining to current issue, and it is filled with provocative thoughts and insensitive remarks. and it happens that we come across reading it. although we know he was not serious, but god...did he ever pause and think twice before hitting that post button? did he ever feel empathy at all?

my point is, whenever we are making statements accessible by public, regardless of any media...please think first. think of the consequences it will bring. think whether is it really necessary to put it out there for all to see, or maybe, if just for the sake of venting..opted for a more closed/limited audience. just try to be more considerate.

i think, to put it simply..our mind is a cauldron of raw thoughts and ideas, still volatile and unstable. it takes times and patience to mould them into (safe) substance of real value. dont hastily vomit out the raw stuff.. it will be dangerous to you and also others..(eisu,2013)
